American YouTuber IShowSpeed, also known as Speed, is captivating global audiences with his latest international tour, which has taken him across major cities in China.
The 20-year-old digital influencer, who boasts over 37 million followers on YouTube, kicked off his journey on March 24, 2025, and has already garnered massive attention worldwide.
His live streams and clips, shared by platforms like the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. on X (formerly Twitter), highlight his immersive experiences in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Henan, and Chongqing.
Speed's adventure began in Beijing, where he explored iconic landmarks like the Forbidden City, indulged in local street food (including squid, Tanghulu, and Genki Forest drinks), and even performed a backflip on the Great Wall of China.
His authentic interactions with locals and enthusiastic reactions to China's rich culture quickly went viral, amassing over 100 million views across his streams.
But it was his stop in Henan at the Shaolin Temple that truly tested his limits. Speed immersed himself in the world of Shaolin Kung Fu under the guidance of Master Liang, a revered martial arts instructor. During his training, Speed attempted various disciplines, from basic exercises like frog jumps and horse stances to advanced techniques like the double-edged stick. Despite the physical challenges, Speed persevered, often expressing his pain and determination in real-time.
Master Liang's philosophy resonated deeply with Speed. As the young YouTuber struggled through a particularly grueling session, Master Liang shared his wisdom: "It's pain, it's life, it's Shaolin, it's Kung Fu, it's pain, it's you."
Speed's journey continued to Chongqing, a city he described as a "cyberpunk paradise." He marveled at its futuristic skyline, labyrinthine streets, and vibrant nightscapes, calling it a "real-life Blade Runner movie." Speed dove into Chongqing's unique charm, savoring spicy hotpot, trying local snacks, and navigating the city's iconic mountainous terrain. What struck him most, however, was the blend of ancient traditions and cutting-edge technology.
"This city is crazy, this is Chongqing,Cyberpunk city of China" he said. His streams captured everything from dancing with street performers to attempting Mandarin with locals, showcasing a side of China that resonates deeply with his global audience. Speed's tour isn't just about sightseeing; it's about building bridges.
