New China Visa Policies Updated in April
1. Shanghai - Stricter Criminal Record Certificate Requirements for Certain Nationalities Applying for Permanent Residency
When applying for permanent residency in Shanghai, Pakistani nationals must now provide a non-criminal certificate that spans from "since birth" to "to date."
The PR Office will reject certificates that indicate a specific date range and must reissue them accordingly.

2. Shanghai - Updated Department Name for Exit-Entry Administration
The official heading for the city's Exit-Entry Administration has changed from "Municipal Bureau (出入境管理市局)" to "Exit-Entry Administration Corps (出入境管理总队)." Applicants should ensure all PR-related documentation reflects this update when submitting materials.
3. Shanghai - Entry Stamp Requirement for Work Permit Extension in Jing'an District
For work permit extensions submitted in Jing'an District, Shanghai, the latest entry stamp photo must be uploaded—even if the date of entry matches that of the previous application. This is a mandatory document for processing.
4. Shanghai - Additional Corporate Documentation Needed for New Work Permits in Songjiang District
Companies applying for new work permits in Songjiang District must now provide documentation related to business operations. This includes, but is not limited to, a "Certificate of No Tax Arrears" or "Tax Payment Certificate."

5. Shaoxing - Simplified Company Filing Requirements for Work Permit Extensions
Previously, companies employing foreign staff in Shaoxing were required to annually renew their registration with the Exit-Entry Administration and provide valid lease contracts of their office premises.
The updated policy now only requires submission of a copy of the business license, along with valid identification for the legal representative and the company's assigned administrative officer.
6. Nantong - Health Check Validation Requirements for Work Permits
If the medical examination report used for a work permit in Nantong is issued by an international health center outside the city, applicants must visit the Nantong International Travel Health Care Center to obtain an official stamp of validation.
