China to impose additional 34% tariffs on all U。S。 imports

(ECNS) – In response to the United States' announcement on Wednesday to implement "reciprocal tariffs" on Chinese goods, China will introduce an additional 34% tariff on all U.S. imports starting April 10, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced on Friday.

The commission emphasised that existing bonded area policies and current tax reduction or exemption measures will remain in effect. However, the new tariffs will not be subject to any reductions or exemptions.

In a statement, the commission criticised the U.S. tariffs as being inconsistent with international trade norms, accusing them of violating China's legitimate rights and branding them as a clear example of unilateral bullying.

The commission further stated that this action not only harms U.S. interests but also poses a threat to global economic growth and disrupts the stability of international industrial and supply chains.
