Shanghai Hospital Eases Expats' Access with AI Translations

Shanghai Hospital Enhances Healthcare Access for Expats with AI Translations

Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital has successfully implemented the localized deployment of DeepSeek technology, integrating it into its Internet Hospital WeChat platform. This innovation allows patients to instantly access foreign-language radiology and ultrasound reports. With a simple click of the "Switch Language" button, an English version of the report is instantly generated, providing international patients with a more convenient and accurate way to understand their medical conditions.

This breakthrough significantly enhances the accessibility and satisfaction of foreign patients, reflecting China's commitment to advancing internationalized healthcare services and fostering a more open and inclusive medical environment.

Arthur Marsh, an American living in Shanghai, recently experienced the benefits of this technology firsthand. After his child fell off the sofa and began vomiting, he and his wife rushed to the hospital's Lingang branch for a CT scan.

"His head was bumped pretty hard on the ground, and so I came here with a CT scan to see if there was any issue... Normally my wife has to translate a lot for me. Fortunately with the new technology available here, we are able to see the English pretty quickly." Marsh said.

Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital remains committed to supporting national strategies and leveraging its strengths to enhance medical service internationalization. Pioneering new approaches in international healthcare, the hospital provides strong medical support for Shanghai's ambitions to become a global hub for high-level openness and cooperation.
