Recently, a social media user reported inappropriate physical contact by an employee at Beijing Universal Studios while interacting with visitors during a character performance.

In response, Beijing Universal Studios launched an internal investigation on the same day and issued a statement:
"On March 19, we received a complaint from a visitor regarding an employee. We take this matter very seriously and immediately initiated an internal investigation, suspending the employee in question. Respecting every visitor and providing them with a high-quality park experience are core corporate values and behavioral standards that we uphold. We will handle any behavior that violates company policies and regulations in a fair and just manner based on the investigation results. We appreciate the public's attention and feedback."
According to earlier media reports, on March 18, a social media user shared their experience from the summer of 2024, stating that they felt uncomfortable during an interaction with a performer playing Charlie Chaplin at Beijing Universal Studios. The user wrote, "By the time I realized what had happened, it was already too late."
On March 19, multiple users posted videos alleging that they had also been sexually harassed by the same Charlie Chaplin performer. The incident quickly drew widespread attention online. Some users claimed that such behavior dates back to 2023 and that the performer in question is a foreign employee.
