A foreign content creator named Dean, who has lived in China for over 15 years, recently posted a video addressing racism, gaining widespread support from netizens.

"As a Black person on Chinese social media, I often receive rude and offensive comments," Dean said. "I'm French—I was born in France, hold a French passport, and grew up speaking French. But my parents are from Africa—my mother from Mali and my father from Ghana, though he grew up in the U.S. I've also lived in China for over 15 years, speak Chinese, and love Chinese culture. In a way, China is also a part of me."

Reflecting on his identity, Dean shared, "Being a mix of cultures enriches me. It helps me understand and learn from others. But no matter where I am, I face racism. Even as a child in France, someone once told me to 'go back to your country.' But France is my country."
Dean acknowledged that racism may never disappear but emphasized the power of resilience: "Haters are just bullies who try to make others feel worthless. But I'm grateful to them because their hate fuels me. Thanks to them, I've become stronger and prouder of who I am."
Encouraging others to overcome fear of judgment, he said, "Many people avoid sharing their passions online because they're afraid of being judged. But living in fear of others' opinions won't bring happiness. If you love something, share it with the world—never let fear hold you back."
He ended with a message of empowerment: "I hope this video inspires people to pursue their dreams and focus on themselves instead of judging others. And to those who send me hateful comments—I want to say thank you. Your words only make me stronger."
Dean's video resonated with many, with netizens showing their support:
"The less experience people have, the more narrow-minded they are. Even people from the same background struggle to understand each other sometimes."
"Don't waste energy on haters. The world is beautiful—focus on what truly matters."
Dean's message is a powerful reminder that self-acceptance and resilience can transform negativity into strength. He encourages people to focus on their own growth rather than judging others, to embrace differences rather than fear them, and to use challenges as fuel to become stronger.  In a world where criticism is easy, choosing confidence and kindness is what truly makes a difference.
