Extreme Weather Hits Parts of China

A powerful snowstorm hit Shandong Province on Sunday, prompting rare red alerts for severe road icing and blizzards.

Jinan, the provincial capital, recorded heavy snowfall, causing major disruptions.

Authorities closed schools, scenic spots, and over 100 toll stations, while high-speed rail services faced delays.

Meanwhile, Shanghai experienced an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures reaching 28.5°C, marking the hottest early March day in over 150 years.

What to Do in These Situations:

During a Blizzard:

Stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
Keep emergency supplies, including food, water, and flashlights.
Drive cautiously if necessary, using winter tires and keeping a safe distance.
Monitor weather updates and follow local advisories.

During Extreme Heat:

Stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure.

Wear light clothing and use sunscreen.
Keep homes cool with fans or air conditioning.
Be mindful of sudden temperature drops and prepare accordingly.

The sudden contrast in weather patterns highlights the need for preparedness and caution as extreme climate events become more frequent.
