+1 City to Issue 5-Year, Multiple-Entry Visas for 180 Days

  On March 17, Chongqing City issued a notice titled "Notice on Providing Special Visa Facilitation for Foreign Business Personnel Coming to Chongqing."

I. Target Audience

The foreign business personnel referred to in this notice are those who frequently come to Chongqing for commercial and trade activities and play an active role in promoting Chongqing's foreign economic and trade cooperation, as well as their spouses and children.

II. Service Details
The Chongqing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will issue special visa facilitation invitation letters for eligible foreign business personnel and their spouses and children, granting a 5-year, multiple-entry visa with a stay period of 180 days. Chinese embassies and consulates abroad will issue M-type visas or corresponding category visas for the relevant individuals based on the invitation letter.
III. Application Process

1.For state-owned, private, and foreign-invested enterprises in Chongqing, the applicant entity should submit the application to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, and the application materials should be submitted to the Chongqing Municipal Commerce Administrative Service Hall (Address: 1st Floor, Commercial Arcade, Energy Building, No. 162 Nanbin Road, Nan'an District, Chongqing; Consultation phone: 62661008, 62661099).

For other applicants, the application should be submitted to the Chongqing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and the materials should be submitted to Window 8 at the Chongqing Foreign Affairs Service Hall (Address: No. 57 Honghu East Road, Yubei District, Chongqing; Consultation phone: 63850687, 63619506).

2.The applicant entity will forward the special visa facilitation invitation letter to the foreign business personnel. The foreign business personnel can then present this invitation letter to the Chinese embassies or consulates abroad to apply for the visa.
IV. Other Matters
1.The application for the special visa facilitation invitation letter must be directly handled by the inviting organization and not by an intermediary agency. The inviting organization must ensure that there is a genuine, direct business relationship with the invited person, provide authentic materials, and avoid activities unrelated to the application purpose.
2.Foreign personnel benefiting from the special visa facilitation who encounter issues related to illegal immigration or other violations upon arriving in China will be dealt with according to the law.
3.No fees will be charged for processing the special visa facilitation invitation letter.
4.The inviting organization must promptly report relevant information about the invited personnel's arrival in China.
