Recently, the People's Mediation Committee of Zhujiajiao Town in Qingpu District, Shanghai, handled its first case involving a foreign national at the Zhujiajiao Police Station .

The case revolved around a dispute between a couple from different countries, which had escalated due to relationship issues.

According to reports, the conflict stemmed from emotional disagreements during their romantic relationship, leading to a heated argument and even some physical altercations. In response, the female partner called the police for assistance.
Upon receiving the case, mediators quickly intervened. They began by establishing communication with both parties, calming their emotions, and gathering details about the situation. After several hours of effort by both the police officers and mediators, the couple reached a resolution. On the same day, they signed a People's Mediation Agreement, in which both sides expressed mutual understanding and committed to fulfilling the terms outlined in the agreement.
The mediation office also issued a reminder that, even in moments of conflict, it is crucial to remain calm, avoid impulsive actions, and never resort to violence. Maintaining composure is key to resolving disputes peacefully and effectively.
