Recently, WeChat rolled out two important updates: CallKit integration and voice playback speed options, surprising many users.1.CallKit Integration
Many users on social media recently discovered that their WeChat now supports CallKit, a feature that was met with surprise and excitement. With CallKit support, even when WeChat is running in the background or the phone is locked, incoming voice calls from friends will appear in the system's call interface, just like a regular phone call. For both voice and video calls, users will see the caller's name and have the option to accept or decline the call through the notification banner. Additionally, users can now view their WeChat call history in the system's call log. Many users have expressed their excitement, saying, "It's so convenient," "I've been waiting for this for years," and "I'll never miss a voice call again." Currently, the CallKit feature is being rolled out to a small group of users, and many have not yet received the update. Developers have also noted that HarmonyOS will soon support WeChat's CallKit functionality. 2. Voice Playback Speed Options In addition to the CallKit feature, WeChat recently introduced another new functionality: voice message playback speed control. This new feature includes: (1)The ability to play back voice messages at a faster speed after re-listening or converting to text. (2)Voice messages can now be played at 1.5x speed, with the option to return to the original speed. (3)The voice message must be at least 5 seconds long for the speed control option to be available. After updating to version 8.0.55, users can select the playback speed when re-listening to a voice message.
