Partial Collapse at Hanting Hotel in Shanghai Traps Three, Two Rescued
On the early morning of January 3, a partial collapse occurred at a construction site on Youyi Road, Baoshan District, Shanghai. According to local fire department reports, the incident occurred at approximately 4:49 AM. The collapse, which affected around 50 square meters of the building, left three people trapped under the rubble. Emergency teams rushed to the scene and have been working diligently to rescue the victims.

As of the morning of January 3, two individuals had been successfully rescued and transported to the hospital for treatment, while one person remains trapped and is still undergoing rescue operations. Authorities have confirmed that they are continuing their efforts to ensure the safety of those still trapped and manage the situation.
Eyewitnesses and local businesses have confirmed that the collapse took place at a Hanting Hotel. One nearby shopkeeper mentioned that the area around the hotel has been cordoned off, and nearby businesses, including his own, have ceased operations for the day. Several local sources reported that emergency vehicles arrived at the scene shortly after the collapse occurred.
A customer service representative from Huazhu Hotels Group, which owns the Hanting brand, stated that they were currently unaware of the specifics of the incident.
The hotel, which operates from multiple floors at 48 Youyi Road, reportedly stated that the affected area was not part of the hotel's operating space. The hotel has been temporarily closed, with no specific timeline for reopening provided.
Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the collapse, and the Baoshan District Emergency Management Bureau has stated that all relevant departments are involved in managing the aftermath of the incident.
