On January 17, 2025, in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, American citizen Beacham III Horace Edward (Bai Handa) performed a brave rescue after witnessing an elderly woman fall into the water. While jogging, Beacham noticed the woman in distress and immediately took action.

Without hesitation, Beacham leaned over a railing, extending his body halfway out to lift the woman out of the water. He held her in place until the police arrived, working together with others to successfully rescue the woman.

In recognition of his courageous actions, Beacham was awarded a certificate, bonus, and flowers.

Having lived in Wuxi for 10 years, Beacham expressed his love for the city, saying, "Wuxi is a very good city. Wuxi is great, I love Wuxi!" 

The story of Beacham's selfless act quickly went viral online, with many netizens praising his bravery and kindness. Commentators emphasized that his actions proved that kindness knows no borders, with many noting that true compassion goes beyond nationality.
