National Temperature Drop Forecast (8 AM, Jan 23 – 8 AM, Jan 28)
The National Meteorological Center issued a blue cold wave alert at 6:00 AM on January 23. From January 23 to 27, moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in eastern Northwest China, North China, central and eastern Inner Mongolia, southern areas of the western Sichuan Plateau, and central and southern Northeast China. Blizzard conditions are forecast in parts of eastern Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Liaoning, Jilin, and southern Sichuan, with some areas in southern Shaanxi likely to experience severe blizzards. Rainfall will dominate in most southern regions. Between 8:00 AM on January 23 and 8:00 AM on January 24, light to moderate rain is expected in parts of southeastern Xizang, southern Shaanxi, Henan, northern and central Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, central and eastern Sichuan Basin, Chongqing, central and eastern Guizhou, and northern Guangxi.
