On 22 January, in a bid to improve travel services for foreigners in Beijing, the city has developed an English-language map tailored to their needs.

From January 22, the Beijing English map will undergo a one-month trial operation on the Beijing Geographic Information Public Service Platform (referred to as "Map World - Beijing"). During this period, feedback from various parties will be collected and used to refine the map before its official launch.
The Beijing English map is available in both digital and paper formats. The digital version includes over 30,000 labels covering categories such as administrative divisions, natural features, transportation, government institutions, international organizations, education and culture, healthcare, sports and leisure, residential accommodations, and commercial facilities. To better meet the needs of foreigners, six thematic maps have been added, featuring more than 4,000 points of interest related to foreign exchange-designated banks, SIM card services, transportation card services, document processing, self-driving services, and tourist attractions. This will provide convenient search and navigation services for foreigners traveling, working, and living in Beijing. The English map data will be shared with government portals, mapping service platforms, and third-party urban lifestyle service platforms to offer more service scenarios.
The paper version of the map is available at three scales: Beijing city, urban districts, and the capital's core functional area. It covers areas frequently visited by foreigners, such as airports, train stations, and major tourist attractions. A digital version of the paper map is available for free download on the Map World - Beijing website for both foreigners and the general public.
According to reports, to provide more convenient and efficient English map services, relevant departments will collect feedback during the trial period to continuously improve and enrich the map's content.
Suggestions and feedback can be sent to [email protected]. The public can access and browse the map at the following website: https://beijing.Map World - .gov.cn.
