64。88 Million Foreign Entries and Exits : 2024 NIA Data Released

 On January 14, the National Immigration Administration held a press conference to release key data for immigration management in 2024.

  In 2024, a total of 610 million border entries and exits were processed nationwide, an increase of 43.9% compared to the previous year. The breakdown is as follows:
  • Mainland residents: 291 million trips, up 41.3% year-on-year

Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents: 254 million trips, up 38.8%

  • Foreigners: 64.88 million trips, up 82.9%

Visa issuance and visa-exempt entries also saw significant increases:

  • Foreign visas issued: 2.597 million, up 52.3%

  •  Visa-exempt foreign entries: 20.115 million, up 112.3%

The immigration service platform provided:

  • 130 million government service inquiries for domestic and foreign travelers

  • Free identity verification services for 34.07 million Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan residents, overseas Chinese, and foreigners

Additionally, the 12367 hotline handled:

  • 7.0841 million calls for consultation, feedback, and suggestions

  • An average satisfaction rate of 99.36%
