Several speculations have emerged regarding the causes of the cancellations. Some believe the airline may have sold off some of its aircraft, leading to a reduced capacity. Another theory is that pilots may have exceeded their maximum flight hours for the year, as per regulations, which could lead to a shortage of available crew for December flights. Additionally, lower demand on some routes or profitability concerns have been suggested as possible reasons for the cancellations. However, China Southern Airlines has yet to provide an official statement addressing these theories.

Travelers are advised to stay updated on the latest flight information. Passengers with affected bookings are advised to check with the airline for alternative arrangements or refunds.
