Knife Attack Near Elementary School in Beijing Injured 5, Including 3 Minors



On the afternoon of October 28, the Haidian branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau issued an official report regarding a knife attack that took place around 3:20 PM near the intersection of Wanquanzhuang Road and Wanliu Middle Road in Haidian District. According to the police, the incident resulted in injuries to five passersby, including three minors.

The suspect, identified as Mr. Tang, a 50-year-old male, was immediately apprehended at the scene. All injured individuals were promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment and are reportedly in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries. The case is currently under further investigation.



According to previous media reports, by 4:50 PM, a journalist on-site observed that the incident occurred near the southeastern corner of the intersection adjacent to the North Campus of Zhongguancun Third Elementary School. Reports indicate that the first wave of students from the elementary school were dismissed at approximately 3:10 PM, shortly before the incident. 



In response, the school set up a black safety barrier at the main entrance, with several security guards stationed nearby. As videos of the incident circulated online, concerned parents rushed to the school to pick up their children.
