Upon closer inspection, it was confirmed that the foreign visa and two Chinese immigration stamps in the passport were counterfeit

According to Ashen, the passport had been handed over to an intermediary to obtain the foreign visa, which he acknowledged was known for its strict application process. The intermediary had allegedly promised to "simplify the paperwork" and expedite the visa issuance. However, Ashen claimed to have been unaware of any illegal practices involved in the process.

Following a thorough investigation, Beijing Airport immigration officers determined that Ashen's use of forged documents constituted a clear violation of immigration laws.

In accordance with the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, Ashen was fined 3,000 RMB and had his passport confiscated. He was also denied permission to leave the country

Further leads related to the case have been passed to the relevant departments for additional investigation.

The case serves as a reminder to travelers to remain cautious when dealing with intermediaries and to ensure their documents are obtained through legal channels. Authorities continue to crack down on forged travel documents to maintain the integrity of the immigration process.
