On August 2nd, a new public test of the nationwide WeChat early warning service was initiated, a collaborative effort between the China Earthquake Networks Center, the National Emergency Broadcasting of China Media Group, and Tencent. This service allows WeChat users across the country to activate earthquake warnings through a mini-program.
Starting now, users can search for "China Earthquake Networks" or "Earthquake Early Warning" within WeChat, access the "China Earthquake Networks" mini-program, and click on "Enable Earthquake Early Warning." By allowing "Early Warning Notifications" and "Location Access," users can successfully activate the early warning service for locations of their concern. Regardless of the brand or model of mobile phones users have, receiving official and authoritative earthquake warning information through this mini-program will be more convenient and faster.

The national earthquake early warning mini-program achieves second-level message push for high concurrency users. When an earthquake occurs that may have destructive effects, the mini-program will issue a strong reminder warning and provide the National Emergency Broadcasting earthquake prevention guidelines, continuously reminding users to take timely evacuation measures to reduce the impact of earthquake disasters.
Additionally, users can send out high-frequency audio distress signals through the mini-program, sending a call for help to rescue personnel in case of being trapped. Earthquakes of varying impact levels correspond to different warning colors and messages. When the impact of an earthquake is minor, it will only be indicated in the WeChat service notifications to minimize disturbance to users.
