How Much Time Should You Allow to Travel from Kunshan, Jiangsu to Shanghai Pudong Airport?

On August 10, Shanghai Xinkong Helicopter Co., Ltd. has successfully piloted a two-way aerial taxi service between Pudong International Airport and Kunshan City Terminal. This "air-to-air intermodal" project will officially launch on August 18, making Kunshan City Terminal the first in China to offer cross-provincial "air-to-air intermodal" services.
Currently, the service is in its market promotion phase, with one-way ticket prices set at 1,600 RMB and 1,800 RMB per seat. Passengers can board a helicopter at Kunshan City Terminal and reach the Shanghai Pudong landing point in about 20 minutes. From there, a ground service vehicle will transfer them to their civil aviation flight. Including the airport ground transfer time, the total journey takes less than one hour.
Originally, traveling from Kunshan to Pudong International Airport required departing 4 hours and 30 minutes in advance for domestic flights and 5 hours and 30 minutes for international flights. With the new low-altitude aerial passenger service, the advance time is significantly reduced to 90 minutes for domestic flights and 120 minutes for international flights. The route is expected to carry 20,000 to 30,000 passengers annually, generating economic benefits exceeding 10 million RMB.
A representative from Kunshan City Terminal stated that the "air-to-air intermodal" project will further expand the scope of the low-altitude economy. Leveraging the professional resources of the helicopter company, Kunshan Development Zone plans to launch low-altitude tourism services from Kunshan City Terminal to destinations such as Shanghai Disneyland, Zhoushan, and Huangshan. Additionally, cross-border aerial emergency medical transport services to hospitals like Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Chest Hospital, and Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital will be introduced.
