In central Vietnam, three Chinese youths were apprehended for allegedly murdering a taxi driver and stealing his vehicle.
On Monday, July 29, 2024, the police of Quang Binh transferred Luo Shi Jun, 16, Huang Jie Cheng, 18, and Gan Ying, 17, to the police of the neighbouring Quang Ngai Province, where the murder occurred, for the purpose of conducting an investigation into the suspected murder of a taxi driver that occurred two days prior.
On Sunday, traffic police in Quang Binh were conducting a routine patrol along a segment of National Highway 1A in Quang Thuan Ward when they observed a five-seat taxi car that exhibited suspicious characteristics.
They asked the driver of the vehicle to halt, but the driver ignored the request and sped away.
Subsequently, the automobile collided with a motorcycle; however, it continued to operate.
Once the vehicle arrived at the market, it proceeded to collide with another motorcycle.
The vehicle continued to flee, colliding with another vehicle on the road.
The police subsequently apprehended the three Chinese youths in the vehicle.
On Saturday, the three acknowledged that they had employed a 47-year-old taxi driver to transport them to various Vietnamese locations.
They murdered the driver in Quang Ngai and disposed of his corpse at 7 p.m. on the same day.
Subsequently, they plundered the vehicle and attempted to flee, but they were apprehended.
