Starting from August 25, Guangzhou Metro has introduced its first smart luggage storage pilot program at 30 selected stations on the subway and intercity lines, offering passengers convenient luggage storage services.
The initial 30 pilot stations cover 14 different lines. The storage lockers are located in the non-fare zones within the stations, allowing passengers to store their luggage either before entering or after exiting the station. The lockers come in three sizes—small, medium, and large—to accommodate a variety of items. Small lockers can hold items the size of a backpack; medium lockers are suitable for 20-inch suitcases or similar-sized items; large lockers can accommodate up to 28-inch suitcases or equivalent volumes. Passengers can simply scan a QR code to access the station's official account and unlock the locker to store or retrieve their belongings.
