Get Licensed in 15 Days ： Easier for Foreign Doctors to Practice

  Hainan Province has accelerated the approval process for foreign doctors practicing in the Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, reducing the time required to within 15 working days. 

  The policy was announced at a recent policy interpretation meeting for the "Implementation Measures for the Practice of Foreign Doctors in the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone" (referred to as the "Implementation Measures").

  Previously, the Lecheng Administration Bureau, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Health Commission, the Provincial Public Security Department, and the Haikou Immigration Inspection Station jointly issued the "Implementation Measures." The aim is to further simplify the approval procedures for foreign doctors practicing in the Lecheng Pilot Zone, making it easier for them to work and live in Lecheng.

  The "Implementation Measures" include four basic procedures: applying for a "Temporary Medical Practice License for Foreign Doctors," applying for a "Notice of Work Permit for Foreigners in the People's Republic of China," applying for a visa, and simultaneously applying for a "Work Permit for Foreigners in the People's Republic of China" and a work-type residence permit. The previous processing time of 52 working days has now been reduced to within 15 working days, streamlining and optimizing the approval process and significantly enhancing service quality and efficiency.

  The policy for foreign doctors in Lecheng also offers several advantages. For instance, health certificates can be approved conditionally. Foreign doctors can submit a signed (scanned) commitment letter, stamped by their employer, promising to provide the health certificate before starting work. This certificate can be obtained from Ruijin Hainan Hospital or any domestic public hospital above the secondary level.

  Additionally, the work-type residence permit and work permit for foreign doctors have been consolidated into a single application. Approved foreign doctors will receive a work-type residence permit valid for three years.
