Foreigner Caught Drunk Driving, License Revoked

  On July 31, the Inner Mongolia Traffic Police reported that a foreignerl was recently apprehended for drunk driving by the Traffic Management Brigade of Hulunbuir City Public Security Bureau's Central District Team.

  During a routine inspection on Hailaer Street in the Hailaer District, officers stopped a car and discovered the driver was a foreigner. The foreign driver, who could communicate in basic Chinese, was informed by the police about the necessity of adhering to Chinese laws and the dangers of driving under the influence. The officers guided him through the breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol content of 64mg/100ml, qualifying as driving under the influence.

  Investigation revealed that the foreigner was using a temporary Chinese driver's license. In accordance with the law, the driver was fined 2,000 yuan, had 12 points added to his record, and had his temporary driver's license revoked.
