Cameroonian Expat's Driving License Revoked for DUI

Traffic police in Inner Mongolia have reported a DUI case involving a foreign national caught driving under the influence in Hulunbuir City during the early hours.

According to the report, the traffic police observed a vehicle operating in the Hailar district and halted it for a routine inspection. Upon stopping the vehicle, they found a foreign national operating it, who could communicate in Chinese.

They requested that he comply with them and submit to a breathalyser test after providing him with information on the fundamental safety precautions for operating a vehicle in China and the hazards of driving under the influence.

The test indicated that his blood alcohol concentration was 64 mg/100 mL, which is considered driving under the influence and is punishable under the PRC laws.

The police station transported the individual from Cameroon for further investigation. The police reported that he was in possession of a temporary driving license that had been issued in China.

A blood test at the station also confirmed the presence of alcohol in his system, and the police took the necessary actions to punish him for the offence.

In accordance with Article 91, Section 1 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the PRC and Article 65, Sections 1 and 3 of the Implementation Measures of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the PRC in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the police revoked his driving license, deducted 12 points from his license, and imposed a fine of 2,000 yuan.

The Inner Mongolia Traffic Police have reminded all residents, including foreign nationals, to adhere to traffic laws and refrain from operating a vehicle while under the influence.
