On August 5, Hunan Airlines announced that, effective August 1, 2024, it has officially abolished the requirement for cabin crew to wear high heels during flights. Crew members can now wear flat shoes throughout their duties.
According to the announcement, high heels paired with uniforms were part of the airline's standard dress code, intended to enhance the crew's upright and elegant appearance, thereby boosting their professional image. However, high heels have also posed challenges for the crew. Extended periods of wearing high heels can cause physical discomfort, especially when standing or walking for long durations.

While high heels can give a woman confidence and pride, the stability and safety provided by flats is essential in certain work situations. Wearing flats is not only a sign of professionalism, but also a sign of responsibility for personal safety and passenger safety. By choosing more comfortable flat shoes, cabin crew members are taking appropriate measures to balance their professional image with cabin safety and employee health.

Starting August 1, cabin crew will operate in a more comfortable and safer environment, providing passengers with practical and professional service.
