A foreign woman was fined for dating while on a tourist visa。

During a summer operation to combat illegal immigrants, the police in Linxian County, Shanxi Province, recently apprehended a Laotian woman.

The police discovered a woman from Laos who had entered the country on a tourist visa. However, the true purpose of her visit was to engage in a blind date with a local man in Linxian County, according to the announcement.

This year, on August 13, they questioned her.

They informed her that she would be subject to a fine in accordance with the law, as the purpose of her visit was incompatible with her visa.

The woman's actions, which involved providing fraudulent information to obtain a visa, constituted illegal entry into the country, as per Article 71 (1) of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Control of the Entry and Exit of Aliens.

According to the article, perpetrators will face a minimum fine of 1,000 yuan and a maximum fine of 5,000 yuan.

However, severe offences may result in a minimum fine of 2,000 yuan and detention for a minimum of 5 days, but not more than 10 days.
