Shanghai Introduces 5 Convenient Immigration Services

Shanghai Public Security Introduces Five Convenient Immigration Services

The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November 5 to 10. As of July 27, the countdown to the event has entered its final 100 days.

On the morning of July 24, a press conference for the 7th CIIE was held in Shanghai.

A media representative inquired about the highlights of the immigration services for this year's CIIE.

Shang Yong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, responded that with the increase in international economic cooperation and exchange, more foreign exhibitors and business visitors are eager to attend the CIIE. To address this situation, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau has focused on the practical needs of foreign exhibitors and participating companies in handling immigration matters by introducing a "convenient services package."

1. Multiple-Entry Visa Renewal:

Shanghai Public Security provides convenient services for the renewal of multiple-entry visas, facilitating the entry of foreign exhibitors to participate in business activities.

2. Visa-Free Entry Assistance:

For foreign exhibitors who are eligible for visa-free entry and need assistance, Shanghai Public Security offers services to help them obtain the necessary stay and residence permits. This allows them to continue their business activities in China after the visa-free period expires.

3. Extended Stay and Business Services:

For foreign exhibitors who need to extend their visa stay or are interested in working or starting a business in Shanghai, the bureau offers high-frequency public security services. Additionally, they focus on the key needs of participating companies by conducting "point-to-point" visits and providing comprehensive immigration service support.

4. On-Site Services and Hotline:

The National Exhibition and Convention Center will continue to host service stations for foreign nationals. Additionally, the 12367 immigration service hotline dedicated to CIIE will provide professional policy consultation both online and offline. They also offer "one-stop" services for immigration document processing, ensuring immediate processing, simultaneous review, and on-site issuance of extended stay permits. For exhibitors from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, urgent document renewal or replacement requests will be handled promptly.

5. Green Channel and Port Visa Services:

Leveraging the Shanghai port visa facilitation mechanism, confirmed invited foreign exhibitors can access green channel services to obtain port visas upon arrival. If foreign exhibitors have not yet secured visas, they or their inviting entities can apply in advance to the port visa authorities or submit the necessary documents on-site upon arrival for immediate processing.

These measures aim to provide seamless and efficient immigration services to ensure a smooth experience for all CIIE participants.
