Foreigner criticized for taking off their shoes in a taxi

A video of two foreign passengers arguing with a taxi driver surfaced and went viral on social media before the topic of an Indian tourist being called out for rude behaviour in China tapered off.

The female passenger in the rear seat removed her shoes and placed her bare foot on the cup holder, which sparked online criticism of the two passengers.

On July 11th, the chauffeur stated that he collected the two individuals in Guangzhou, which is located in the southern province of Guangdong, China.

The female passenger in the rear seat removed her shoes and placed her bare foot on the cup holder of the vehicle shortly after it began to move. 

The driver was initially perplexed by the abrupt odour emanating from the cup holder, as he believed it to be a form of exotic arbecue. 

However, when he examined the cup holder, he was shocked to see the lower part of a human limb sitting there unprotected.

"Hey, don't touch here." The woman responded in English to the driver's statement, but she did not remove her foot. 

Subsequently, he instructed them in Mandarin, "Do not remove your shoes or place your foot here!"

The male passenger yelled "Why?" in Chinese at him.

"If I tell you not to put your foot here, just don't." The motorist responded.

The male passenger inquired once more in Chinese, "Where are you? Why are you here?"

Even his family members couldn't put their feet on the cup holder, the driver said, because he put his cups there.

A male passenger subsequently accused the driver of being disruptive and instructed him to remain silent.

The driver became agitated and addressed the passengers in English, stating, "This is China, not Africa." You are aware that my family cannot interact with this item (the cup receptacle).

The male passenger once again told the driver that he was too troublesome, to which he responded by calling him a "Shen jing bing" and pointing his middle finger at him.

Note: A "shén júng bìng" (神经病) is an individual who is mentally ill.

Following the exchange of shén júng bìng insults, the driver inquired as to whether it would be necessary to contact the authorities.

The passengers departed the vehicle, but they failed to close the doors. 

The driver is observed shouting at them, "Hey, shut the doors!" before exiting the vehicle to close the passenger doors. This is illustrated in the following video.

The video's rapid virality on social media was a result of recent, notorious foreigners' online actions.
