40-Minute Ride ： Hongqiao-Pudong Airport Link Passes Speed Test

  The Shanghai Airport Link Line is now ready for high-speed operation, which will reduce the journey time between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to 40 minutes.

  The rails' dynamic performance and system status were tested against technical standards. The stabilities of their operating power supply system, vehicle system, and track system were also comprehensively examined to ensure safety.

  Once completed, the new line will offer seamless transfers to several existing and under-construction metro lines, greatly benefiting local residents and travelers. The key areas to be directly improved include:

  1. Transfer between Hongqiao Railway Station and Line 2, Line 10, and Line 17

  2. Transfer between Qibao Station and Zhongchun Road Station on Line 9

  3. Transfer between Huajing Station and Line 15 and Line 19

  4. Sanlin South Station has reserved transfer conditions with Line 19 and Fengxian Line

  5. Zhangjiang Station has reserved transfer conditions with Line 21 and Line 27

  6. Transfer between Pudong Airport Station and Metro Line 2 and Maglev Line

  The 68.6-kilometer line will pass through three districts, namely Minhang, Xuhui, and Pudong New Area. It will stop at nine stations.
