Man Prosecuted for Getting 3 People Infected & 114 Quarantined

According to Sanmen Police of Taizhou, Zhejiang, on April 8, a man was prosecuted by Sanmen County People's Procuratorate on suspicion of impeding the prevention and control of infectious diseases. 


It is reported that the man concealed his infection of novel coronavirus earlier on January 15, and caused three coworkers of his infected and 114 colleagues and family members quarantined.



Man in Hangzhou Detained for Stealing Women's Underwear


Recently, Hangzhou Police of Sandun Branch in Xihu District received report from a lady saying that her underwear had been stolen. The police found that similar cases have frequently occurred in the area since last October. 


Soon, the police caught the suspect, Li, a 33-year-old man, and found more than 100 women's underwear in his suitcase.

 

Li, who works in a small restaurant in Hangzhou, confessed that due to endless fights with his mother, he alleviated his pressure by stealing. 


As of now, Li has been taken criminal compulsory measures by the public security organs.



Chinese Mainland Reports 108 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases


As of 8:38 am April 13, Chinese mainland reports 108 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 98 imported cases, and 61 new asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.

  • 77,663 discharged from hospitals


Second Wave of Outbreak in ChinaTop Expert Responds 


The risk of the spread from imported cases certainly exists, but the possibility of an outbreak is relatively small, Zhong Nanshan said on Sunday, noting that residents in Chinese residential communities have a strong sense of self-protection and that a second wave was 'unlikely'.



Beijing Announces Reopening of Schools for Graduating Class 


Li Yi, spokesperson of Beijing's education authority, announced at a press conference on Sunday afternoon, adding that the college entrance examination in Beijing will be held from July 7-10.


The entrance examination for high school in Beijing will be held from July 17 to 19, according to him.



Students in their final year at junior high and senior high schools in Beijing are scheduled to return to school on May 11 and April 27, respectively.

 

The students should be back to Beijing two weeks in advance of the school resumption and finish the 14-day home or integrated quarantine with a negative result in nucleic acid testing.

 

School staff members and teachers should be on duty 10 days earlier than the resumption and get prepared for schooling.

 

The time for the resumption of student in other grades, as well as kindergartens and special education schools, will be determined later.
