Labor Holiday attractions within One-hour drive in your city


There are some attractions that have reopened in the last few days, but the COVID-19 outbreak is still unpredictable. If you transfer somewhere in China mainland you might need to undergo a 14-day quarantine when you arrive in the city. EH Guru knows you would like to breath some fresh air during the Labor Holiday; therefore, I will introduce some spots that are great but not far away from your city.



Dishui Lake




Address: West Road, Huanhu, Nanhui New City, Pudong New Area

Dishui Lake is an artificial lake located in the center of Lingang New City in Shanghai's Pudong District. Located far from downtown Shanghai, it is a quiet and mostly tranquil area that has seen various bursts of development. The Shanghai Maritime Museum and the new Shanghai Planetarium are located here. With a circumference of approximately 8 km and ringed with walking paths, Dishui Lake is a popular spot for outdoor activities. While enjoying the fresh air, you can fly a kite, fish, or cycle around the lake. Drop into the Crowne Plaza Shanghai Harbour City hotel, which is also located along the lake. The hotel's architecture resembles a spinning pinwheel.


Shanghai wild animal park




Address: 178 Nan Liu Gong Lu, near Xiayan Gong Lu

Visitors will have a chance to touch and feed the animals (no wild ones). All the animals in the park are in their natural habitat instead of being prisoned in cages. On the contrary, visitors have to be in a special caged bus in order to see the wild animals in their wild natural habitat. It is excellent for all ages.


Nanxiang Water Town

It is a small town with a history of nearly 1500 years. It is one of four famous historical and cultural ancient towns in Shanghai City. This old ancient town is the birthplace of the famous Xiaolongbao steamed bun, which are well liked throughout the world.

Shilinxia Scenic Area

The Shilinxia Scenic Area is a good destination just out of Beijing city to catch a glance of the unique stone and rock formations in a 6-km long valley or gorge. You may also experience the glass sightseeing platform and cable car. Most travelers prefer to hike along the narrow (about 3 meters wide) valley to experience the greatness of the sandstone gorge.Walking on the rock mountain road gives you a great kind of adventure.


Jingdong Grand Canyon

Jingdong Grand Canyon is made up of two major tourist areas, the Grand Canyon and Jingtai Mountain. The sight of the Grand Canyon is narrow and steep, and the Jingtai Mountain is somewhat wide and full of natural wildness. The waterfalls, cliffs, lakes and lakes in the Grand Canyon are all magical, with fish diving in the bottom of the lake. Yu Yam Ancestral Garden

Yu Yam Ancestral Garden is one of the four most famous gardens from the Qing Dynasty in Guangdong Province. The other three are Foshan Liangs Garden, Dongguan Ke Garden and Shunde Qinghui Garden. Covering an area of 1,598 square meters, the garden was the private residence of Wu Yantian. The exquisite style of the garden can be seen by the large variety of brick, wood, lime and stone carvings.


Shimen National Forest Park

It is known for its red leaf-encased mountains. Starting from late December, as temperatures drop, mother nature dyes the leaves here into a warm red color. Besides the red leaves, its also home to 200,000-mu plum trees, which are in full bloom in mid-winter. The place is called Shimen Xiangxue (literally Shimen fragrant snow) because the blossoms create an illusion of snow as petals shower down from branches when the wind blows.




Qionglong Mountain

The Qionglong Mountain is located on the east bank of Taihu Lake in Suzhou. The winding mountain highway leads directly to the top. With dense forestry spreading across the mountain, local people in Suzhou regard it as a natural oxygen bar. It is the perfect spot for a touch of hiking. Sun Wu and other ancient celebrities paid their visits, and therefore these scenic spots on the mountains revolve around their stories. Passing through the famous imperial Lake, which is named after Emperor Qianlongs visit, you can take a look at the man-made small waterfall on the edge of the Imperial Lake.




Xixi Wetland Park

Bamboo-lined Path at Yunqi

Bamboo Lined Path at Yunqi is well known for its quietness and coolness. One Chinese sweet gum tree is over 1000 years old. The famous stone paved footpath leading into the Yunqi valley is lined with hundreds of thousands of bamboo trees. While walking along the path you will notice a pond called Mind Purifying Pond which cool and clear water, the hills are quite and beautiful.
