It is reported that a man being isolated with his family at a designated hotel in Cixi occupying two rooms has paid 14,000 yuan out of his own pocket for a 14-day quarantine as they sneaked back from Hubei without a declaration to the Local community.
How Much it Costs for Treatment - Beyond Imagination!
As for the medical treatment fee, Nie Jia, a mild patient of COVID-19 in Guangshui, Hubei said that he had been hospitalized for 33 days, but had no idea about how much it cost even he was discharged.
On January 25, Nie was admitted to the hospital for treatment. On his first day of in the hospital, he paid 5,000 yuan. Later, on the fourth day, the bill showed that he was in debt for more than 1,000 yuan, but the hospital didnt ask him to pay, as the government had announced that all the patients of COVID-19 should be treated for free. When being released, he was informed that the 5,000 yuan he paid would be returned.
Although Nie didnt know exactly how much it cost to cure him, but it apparently it would have been unaffordable to many families in China, especially for the more severe and critical patients.
