Chinese government released Legal Q&As for epidemic prevention and control in a law-based manner on Friday, which clarified issues on salary, rumor mongering, price gouging, counterfeits and more!




8 Measures to Assist Work Resumption for Foreigners


On February 21, Zhejiang Exit & Entry Administration issued 8 measures to assist work resumption for foreigners, which are as follows:

  • Provide 24-hour full time service. Visa offices of 11 prefecture-level cities and 19 county-level cities will provide 24-hour telephone counseling service and reservation service.


  • Speed up visa processing time. The processing time of extension, renewal and reissue for visa and stay permits will be speeded up from 7 working days to 5 working days; the processing time of resident permit extension, renewal and reissue will be speeded up from 15 working days to 5 working days.
     

  • Difficulties in document-providing can be accepted. Visa extension application will be accepted if the applicant can submit personal statement to promise to provide the missing materials within one month after the end of the epidemic under the condition that the applicant cant provide the necessary document for the time being. 


  • Simplify materials in visa application. Foreign related enterprises or organizations can provide letters attached with their own staff name list in group application, and no need to issue separate letters for everyone; Archive files and documents accessible by visa application system can be exempted.


  • Expand the accepting scope of non-in-person visa application. Those who cannot come to Exit & Entry Administration Department in person for visa extension, renewal and reissue can authorize their employers or relatives to submit applications for them.

  • Give priority to emergency application. Visas and Residence permits can be processed within one day for those overseas applicants who are truly in emergency need.

  • Always ready to help overseas people in their applying for health code. Make and publicize bilingual or multilingual application-instructing materials so as to help overseas people in Zhejiang to acquire health code as soon as possible. 


  • Resolve Difficulties and appeals of overseas people. Closely interact with overseas people so as to collect and resolve the difficulties and appeals from them intheir returning to work.

CoViD-19 Found in Patients Urine


On Feb. 19, Professor Zhao Jincun, an expert of Zhong Nanshan's team, identified traces of CoViD-19 in a urine sample provided by the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, which poses a challenge to China's sewer system amid the epidemic outbreak.


Study Indicates Covid-19 Did Not Originate In Huanan Seafood Market


A study based on genome-wide data analysis published on ChinaXiv on Feb. 21 reveals the CoViD-19 was introduced to the Huanan seafood market from another location, and patient zero transmitted the virus to the market staff and caused a wider spread in early December 2019.



The 4-month-old Infected Cured


Jingjing, a four-month-old baby girl infected with CoViD-19 was discharged from Children's Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University on Feb. 20. She was the youngest cured patient in Zhejiang.

Hangzhou Tower resumed business on Feb. 20 and people were seen queuing up at the entrance for temperature screening on that day. The mall secured deals worth 11 million yuan within five hours and the biggest order was a 350,000-yuan watch.
