Over 5,000 Tourists Flood This Area Despite the Virus

As the epidemic situation seemingly improved over recent days, the emergency level has been downgraded in several places around China while the weather continues to get hotter and employees have begun returning to work.

While this may sound like things are getting better, this has also led to horrific scenes of crowds in public places.

This was the case around the Wugong Mountain in Jiangxi province when an announcement for free tickets went out earlier this week, offering tourists a unique opportunity to visit this beautiful natural area without needing to pay anytime between February 20 and March 31.

This, of course, resulted in seas of visitors flooding the region this past weekend which, has you must very well know by now, is the last thing people should be doing while the COVID-19 pandemic is still hanging over our heads.

Following this first week, the tourism board of the Wugong Mountains has already stopped selling regular and cable car tickets. As of February 24, the number of tourists allowed in decreased from 5,000 to 3,000, while offline tickets have been temporarily closed.

On February 20, Nanjings Xuanwu Lake Park reopened to the public at 6 PM and was already crowded with people waiting to walk in.

In Guangyuan, Sichuan province, a large number of citizens gathered in a public square earlier this week to bathe in the sun and drink some tea without wearing masks.

A long line at Costco in Shanghai:

Despite the slight improvement in some areas of China with no new cases identified, this doesnt mean we need to let our guards down. Its even more important today to continue wearing masks, using hand sanitizers, and maintaining a high level of hygiene before visiting crowded public places.

Stay vigilant!

The end of the tunnel is near.
