Unexpected Panda Reaction After 4.6 Magnitude Earthquake

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake just hit the city of Mianyang in southwestern China's Sichuan Province at 3:20 P.M. on December 9.

Luckily, Chinas early earthquake warning system gave people living in Mianyang 7 seconds before Mondays tremor and as many as 25 seconds in Chengdu.

When the earthquake struck, visitors to the panda base were shocked to find the normally slow giant pandas dropping their bamboo and "climbing up the tree in a flash".

A video filmed by one of the visitors shows the two pandas in panic after some much more relaxed eating time, leaving their bamboo behind to go find refuge.

Who would have thought that such big creatures could climb so fast? This life-threatening natural disaster seems to have awakened their innate acrobatic talent!

In only 5 seconds, the two pandas climbed as high as the middle stem of the tree.
