7 Foreigners Detained for Illegal Employment

Recently, Nanjing police found seven foreigners with tourist visas who were suspected of illegal employment. As of now, the seven have been detained in accordance with the law.

On December 10, 2019, during a routine inspection of an entertainment place, the police of Yongyang police station in Lishui District of Nanjing, learned that a number of foreign service personnel were recruited but the police couldn't find them. 


Learning the foreigners might be at their apartments, the police there immediately informed the local police and cooperated together.


After a careful investigation, seven women were found in a rental house, all of them had valid foreign passports, but none applied for an accommodation registration as required.


Subsequently, the police contacted the exit entry management department and summoned seven people to the police station for further investigation.


Under the joint investigation of the entry and exit administration department and the police, it was determined that the seven people entered the China with tourist visas and worked illegally without obtaining work permits or work residence certificates, which violated the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the PRC.

As of now, the seven foreigners have been detained according to law, and the case is being handled further.
