On August 28th, the Ministry of Commerce issued a survey on the consumption habits of urban residents, which quickly attracted the attention of the mass media.

According to the data in the survey, 60% of China's consumption occurs at night, and the sales of large shopping malls from 6:00 to 10:00 PM account for more than half of the day's sales. Thus, the promotion of night economy has become an important part of stimulating consumption.

Here is some data about the night economy.

Amount of Bars and KTVs:

Unexpectedly, the number of bars and KTV in Chengdu and Chongqing is far more than that in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. However, Shanghai has the nickname of Night Shanghai, which isn't unreasonable as there is more than 2,200 bars there.

Amount of 24-hour Convenience stores:

On the streets of Shanghai, there are more than 3600 convenience stores, that are open for 24 hours. There is no doubt that Shanghai is the most convenient city at night. Shenzhen is slightly less than Shanghai, but there are also more than 2800 convenience stores that are open for 24 hours.
