I think we can all agree that WeChat is, for lack of a better word, truly amazing. However, it can sometimes feel slightly overwhelming with its plethora of settings and features to choose from and use.
Today, we would like to shed some light on a few features that are definitely worth a look. Many of you may already know about them and use them on a daily basis, but its always good to give ourselves a little refresher on the social apps capabilities.
First one:
How do you feel when after liking or commenting on a friends WeChat post, you still receive notifications of your mutual friends liking and commenting on that same post?
Even if most if not all of those likes and comments dont concern you, you still have to click on your Moments to make those notifications disappear, and that action alone can be very frustrating.
Luckily for you, we have a solution!
Go ahead and click on Me My Moments then click the top right corner ... Moments Notifications
Pick whichever Moments you want to disable notifications from and voila!
Second feature:
When festive holidays come around, we all expect to receive red pockets in several of the WeChat groups were in. The problem is that people also love to talk in those groups, and when they talk a lot, those red pockets can easily get ignored and are hard to find before everyone else has managed to get their hands on their RMB.
Heres a trick to make sure you never miss another hongbao for the next Spring Festival again:
In your group chat, click the top right corner ... then Transactions
This will show you if and when someone sent a red pocket in your group. If that person sent it just a few minutes ago, hurry up and click that notification so it can automatically redirect you back to the pocket in the chat and you get to collect your share of the money pie.
But do note that these pockets have time limits.
Third feature:
This one has been around for a while now and is commonly used among diehard WeChat users, but many of you out there may have forgotten it exists Re-introducing: Floating!
If youre reading an article, watching a video, or filling out a form directly on WeChat and someone texts you at the same time, clicking the message notification will take you out of the page you were on and it might be annoying to have to get back on it.
So just click the top right corner and then hit Floating. Note that you can only have up to 5 links floating at once, so choose wisely.
These are just a couple of tips and tricks among a vast sea of other features out there across the WeChat platform.
