His Amateur Dance Moves Went Viral and Moved Millions!

Spin, swing, lift!

Not too long ago, Deng Xuedong decided to brave his inability to dance like a pro and performed in front of his 88-year-old mother, who had been laying in her hospital bed for quite some time.

Dance for me! she said ecstatically.

Some netizens felt embarrassed upon watching the video, commenting on how amateur his moves were.

But at that moment, 58-year-old Deng Xuedong, a doctoral supervisor at the Ultrasound Center at Suzhou Hospital affiliated to the Nanjing Medical University, was nothing more than his mothers son.

She lifted her tiny frame up to watch her son dance for her, staring and swing excitedly while ignoring the food that had been prepared.

Once Deng was done dancing, he took a step forward and softly put his hands around his mothers face, who was showing glimpses of a smile.

After the dance, the son took a step forward with his hands gently holding his mother's head and face.

There was a smile on her mother's face.

His wife recorded this beautiful moment between a mother and her son, and said: Its like a trip back to childhood.

Those who are still fortunate enough to have their parents around should embrace every moment shared with them.

They supported us to become who we are today, and now its our privilege to support them with love and care.

Mid-Autumn Festival: China's 2nd Biggest Festival is Coming!

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival  falls on September 13th-15th, 2019.

The Mid-Autumn festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is the second most important festival celebrated in China after the Lunar New Year. It is a public holiday in which people come together as a family to celebrate. The festival is celebrated when the moon is full, which symbolises reunion, harmony and happiness. In the past, the Moon Festival was celebrated at harvest time. Ancient Chinese emperors worshiped the moon in autumn to thank it for the harvest. Today, people mainly celebrate the moon festival as a time for family reunions. This year, the mid-autumn festival will fall on the 13th September.

Celebration activities:

A reunion dinner

Particularly on the evening of Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese people get together with their family. They eat dinner together usually at the grandparentshome or at a restaurant. Food for the dinner includes duck, taro, and other regional festival foods.

Popular foods: Mooncakes, duck, pumpkin and taro.

Worshipping the moon
After dinner, the family traditionally offers sacrifices to the moon, in the belief that the moon will bring them good luck. The offerings may include mooncakes and symbolic fruits. If the weather permits it, the family will then go outside to appreciate the bright moon while eating mooncake. During a bright moon night, many families choose to go outside to a park, climb hills or walk by a lake to gaze at the moon.

Lanterns
Making colourful lanterns is an activity enjoyed between families and children. The lanterns can be different shapes and can also resemble animals, plants or flowers. They also make Kong Ming lanterns, which can fly due to the burning candles that heat the air in the lantern. Children write good wishes on the lanterns and let them fly up into the sky.

Dragon/ Lion dances
Some regions hold dragon and lion dances, which attract many participants and spectators. Lions usually have two performers inside a costume, while dragons require many performers to manipulate their serpentine bodies.

Mooncakes:

Chinese mooncakes are especially important to this celebration, so much so that the festival is sometimes called 'Mooncake Festival'. Chinese mooncakes are round, baked, palm-size cakes eaten and gifted during the Chinese Moon Festival. They're a popular gift, often given in decorative boxes to clients, freinds, and family members. They are made of a wheat flour pastry with a sweet, dense filling. Fillings could include; nuts, red beans, lotus seeds, fruits and egg.

Fun fact: The largest mooncake ever created was in Shanghai in 2013 with a mooncake that weighed just under 2,500kg with a diameter of 2.5m making it heavier than a car and bigger than a king-size bed!

Tip: Make sure to book transport tickets early for travel during this celebration period. A lot of people travel during this period and a lot of transport is sold out ahead of time.

Enjoy the festivities!

Didi to Launch New Service for Riders!

Source: CNBC

Didi Chuxing, Chinas version of Uber, announced plans to launch a robotaxi service in Shanghai where users will be able to hail driverless cars from the app.

The ride-hailing company will deploy 30 different models of so-called level four autonomous vehicles in the Jiading district of Shanghai. Level four self-driving cars have a high degree of autonomy but a driver can still manually take control.

Didis pilot project will combine both autonomous vehicles and human-driving vehicles for the duration of the project.

Its the latest company to announce a robotaxi pilot project as China tries to push development of its artificial intelligence (AI) industry, which includes driverless cars. China wants to become the world leader in AI by 2030.

Yet, Didi is not the first.

Technology giant Baidu is gearing up to launch a robotaxi service in Changsha later this year, while Pony.ai is carrying out its own project in the Nansha district of Guangzhou.

In the U.S., Google spinoff Waymo has teamed up with ride-hailing service Lyft to offer riders the option of a driverless car in Phoenix. Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said his company should have robotaxis on the roads in 2020.

Didi was granted permits to test autonomous vehicles in Shanghai on Wednesday. The company did not reveal a timeline for launching the pilot project.

Earlier this month, the company made its driverless car unit an independent company.

Be Careful Using This Type of Phone Charger! Or Else...

How many of us have plugged in to USB ports at the airport, shopping malls, and metro stations while in desperate need of power? Though USB ports are fast and convenient, they also come with a hazard - people can install a third-party application, like a virus, onto the phone via its USB cable connection to a computer  in less than three minutes.

How are USB ports hacked while charging?

Step 1. Mobile phones are plugged in to the USB ports.

Step 2. USB ports transfer malicious software through USB cable to mobile phones.

Step 3. Mobile phones pop up with an authorization window.

Step 4. Users click 'agree'.

Step 5. The malicious software is installed onto the mobile phones.

Step 6. Access is made to mobile phone permissions.

Step 7. Hackers control the mobile phones through remote command.

Step 8. Hackers obtain privacy information from mobile phones.

Warning!

1. If a permission request (including USB debugging and device trust) pops up while your mobile phone is plugged into a USB port, please reject all the requests!

2. Some USB ports provide plug bases, in this case, use your own charging tool.

3. Some USB  ports only provide a USB cable, in this case, please only use it's charging function instead of data transmission function.

4. Turn off your mobile phone while using USB ports.

5. Mobile phone should have anti-virus software installed and be checked regularly to avoid Trojan horse virus attacks.

6. Free public places WIFI is likely to be used by hackers to commit crimes, Do not login with password to avoid leakage of privacy.

7. Try not to use the public USB ports.

Prevention

1. Turn-on 'airplane mode'

Mobile phones will waste power when receiving messages, notifying through apps, but in 'airplane mode', all signal will be rejected, which will make it easier to charge the mobile phone's battery quicker.

The 'airplane mode' can be found in the 'settings' function. If you want to keep the phone on in the case of an emergency, you should turn on 'airplane mode' for faster charging. Of course, the quickest way is to turn off the power.

2. Turn off Bluetooth and GPS

Bluetooth and GPS also consume battery power. Keep them in turned-off when you don't need them.

3. Do not use the USB interface

Computers and cars USD interface's output is only 0.5A, however, mobile phones standard charging electric current is 1A or even higher, and has an unstable electric current. Charging speed would be much lower.

Computer's USB interface output is 0.5A

Standard output by using phone plug is 1A or more

To charge efficiently and avoid doing harm to the phone, the best way to do is use original charger.

4. Use the original charger

The original charger is not only safe and reliable but also efficient. Non original chargers are likely to be inefficient because of different specifications, and security risks.

5. Cleaning up the charging port

In some cases, the phone can't be charged or is at a slow speed, not because the battery is broken, but because the battery is blocked by dust.

At this point, you only need to take a toothpick or a paper clip, wrap the tip with toilet paper or cotton wool, and then put it into the charging port to clean up the dirt.

The police said you should stick to wall outlets rather than USB ports, utilize proper encryption when possible, and avoid unlocking and using the phone while charging, which can send more data to the charging port. Like an experienced pickpocket, hackers know that even a simple cellular handshake can be an opportunity for theft.
